SPF 50+ Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Butter

all good

Made in CA

Product Details

Smooth, creamy, organic. No, they’re not talking about guacamole – they’re referencing our SPF 50 Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Butter. Made with zinc-oxide, this reef-friendly butter physically blocks UVA/UVB rays and is tinted with iron oxides to blend with most skin tones. Leaves a “barely-there” matte finish.

Made from a mineral blend of Zinc oxide and botanical ingredients, this SPF 50 Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Butter uses plant-based iron oxides to blend seamlessly with most skin tones. Super hydrating and goes on smooth thanks to a blend of coconut oil and jojoba oil. This facial sunscreen won’t leave your skin greasy and won’t clog your pores (sensitive skin, rejoice!). The most active ingredient, zinc oxide, actually sits on top of your skin to physically block UVA and UVB rays and beeswax gives this butter an extra “oomph” in the waterproof department. Broad-spectrum SPF in a handy dandy portable tin – can we get an “Amen” for plastic-free packaging? Rub a dub dub, the best-tinted sunscreen butter in a tub.

    • GMO-free
    • Gluten-Free
    • Paraben-free
    • Hypoallergenic and great for sensitive skin
    • Prevents sun damage
    • Biodegradable
    • Made in the USA
Use & Care

Head’s up! This product is made with iron oxides, which have been known to leave a stain on light, and particularly WHITE fabrics. If you’re rocking tinted sunscreen, try to avoid rubbing your face or body on light-colored clothing, towels, and furniture.

If you’ve ever gotten that weird orange-colored stain on your clothes after a day at the beach, we assure you that zinc sunscreen was not the culprit. It’s more than likely that the sunscreen that dyed your clothes orange included the chemical Avobenzone – a “gateway” ingredient commonly used in chemical sunscreens that we deem a BIG NO-NO. If your stain is white from zinc sunscreen or a light brown color from tinted zinc sunscreen varieties, assemble your ingredients and get to work. You’ll need: a dull-edged knife, baking powder, white vinegar, hot water and a little laundry detergent. What to do: Scrape off the excess zinc with the knife. Sprinkle a bit of baking powder over the stain and let it absorb the grease for a couple minutes before brushing off the powder. Soak the stained article in hot water mixed with detergent and gently rub out the stain. Transfer the article to soak in white vinegar for 15 minutes, and then put it through the washer/dryer as you normally would. Sunscreen, pasta sauce, butter… same stain-removal technique. You’re welcome.

About the Company

Environmentally-friendly Body Care Products

They’re on a mission to prove that humans and nature can live in harmony.

Certified B-Corporation

B-Corp, as in the “Batman of Business World.” Being a certified B Corporation gives them official street-cred because these sustainability vigilantes certify that they balance purpose and profit while considering the impact of their decisions on their employees, customers, suppliers, community, and environment. All Good is a proud triple bottom line business – meaning social and environmental responsibility is equally as important as profits. Send up the bat signal.

1% for the Planet

There are 8 billion people on the planet and – yes, they’re getting preachy here – we all gotta do our part to be better to each other and our home. Through our 1%FTP partnership, they give one percent of their annual sales to important global causes. They’re proud to support POW, Outside Now, Conservation Alliance, Sustainable Coastlines, Kokua Foundation, Kohala Foundation, Na Kama Kai, United Plant Savers, Pacific Whale Foundation, and Ecologistics.

Certified Organic Ingredients

“Organic” isn’t just for hippies and baby food anymore – it’s for all living things. They source organically grown herbs, oils, and raw ingredients to ensure their products are free from nasty stuff (harmful pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers) and promote good stuff (diverse ecosystems, healthy soil, clean groundwater). It’s organic, man.

Non-GMO Materials

Yep… they’re real. They like their materials the way nature intended, so they pass on genetically modified organisms. They don’t have a ton of rules, but they do their best, always, to source materials that do not contain GMOs.

Wild Land Farming

WWRCD? That’s “What WouId Rachel Carson Do?” If they can’t source it, they grow it. They grow their own calendula, lavender, and yarrow using wildland farming techniques to promote biodiversity, build natural habitats, build healthy soil, and attract the birds and the bees (heyo).

Powered by the Sun

Photosynthesis – even buildings are doing it! Their production facility in Morro Bay, CA is powered by photovoltaic panels on the roof and plenty of outdoor board meetings.

Girl Power

For anyone sitting in the back: More women in leadership! They’re proud to be a Woman-owned and founded company (shoutout to Caroline!) and run a business full of badass lady power. Their production facility is run and staffed by women, they have women farmers, women in finance, women in sales… are you seeing a pattern? Hats off to you, ladies (and, obviously, to the men who love them too).

Cruelty-Free Testing

They test on actual humans! They’re all about cruelty-free cosmetics and partner with membership affiliates like PETA and Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (Leaping Bunny) to encourage consumers and companies to say no to animal testing. It’s the 21st century, people – let’s just test on humans or robots. Paging the Terminator.

Reef Friendly Products & Initiatives

Things they like: Finding Nemo. Things they don’t like: Dead Nemo. They’re committed to protecting the coral reefs of the world by making ONLY reef-safe sunscreen. Quick science lesson: pollution caused by chemicals found in common sunscreens (notably octinoxate and oxybenzone) contribute to clogging up the pores of coral reefs (yes, they have pores too) which is no bueno for these creatures. (Here’s more science if you want to geek out). They stay faaaaar away from these ingredients, instead of making 100% of their All Good mineral sunscreen products with topical ingredients that sit on top of your skin to physically block the sun’s rays. These non-nano particles won’t absorb into your bloodstream or into coral reef systems, either. If it’s good enough for Nemo, it’s good enough for you.

About the Founder

It was November of 2014 when Khara Koffel decided to make some all-natural, handmade lip balms for the lovely teachers and aides at the daycare center where her little boy attended (wooohooo, Bright Beginnings! We love you!). She roped Megan Luckey into helping her since she knew she would have more fun that way and because Luckey is like her twin from whom she was separated at birth.

Two months later, they were making them to sell in a coffee shop. Two months after that? Etsy. A year later? Wholesale and vendor fairs. Next Stop?…

After more than five years of kicking ass and taking names, they’ve gotten pretty close to dominating in the lip balm world…so much so, they now have more than 15 products (not just lip balms) and hundreds of SKUs!

Need some non-greasy whipped lotion for your dry skin? They’ve got that. Beard balm to tame a dude’s facial hair? They make that, too! How about some Bug Stuff to keep the mosquitoes from ruining your picnic or a whiskey-scented lip balm for Uncle Brian? OF COURSE, THEY MAKE THAT.

Everything they create is lovingly handmade from the best ingredients, works like a charm, and doesn’t contain any of those nasty chemicals that we all worry about.

All-natural, handmade products are what they do and they’re SERIOUS about it!

Megan Luckey

Luckey loves her kid, her dog, and figuring out how to build things from scratch. She’s passionate about using products without chemicals or funny-sounding ingredients and that passion led her to Serious Lip Balm. Luckey is happiest surrounded by gnomes, half-finished home renovation projects, and bright colors. When she isn’t whipping up balms or scratching bulldog bellies, she is a freelance sign language interpreter.

It doesn’t take much to tickle Lula’s fancy. The only things she expects in this world are belly scratches, high-quality kibble, and approximately 23 hours of nap time per day. Lula is easy-go-lucky but she has no patience for being locked in the kitchen or dealing with bad customer service. Lula will do everything in her power to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your Serious Lip Balm, and she is always available for a belly rub. She can be reached at and you can check out her adventures with the Instagram hashtag #thingsluladoesntunderstand.

Khara Koffel

An ex-pat of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Khara lives and works in Jacksonville, Illinois, but she’s had a lot of addresses from New Jersey to Alabama. She loves her family, sculpture (here is what she makes when she is not balming –, learning, making, going to parks with her son, professor-ing, anything having to do with Pope John Paul II, and talking to new people who can share a story with her. If there’s a kitschy store, she’s probably been to it, if there’s a nail polish color, she probably owns it, and if there’s a really awkward facial expression, she’s probably made it, photographed it, and posted it on the internet. She’s a little of this, a little of that and a little extra to lick off of the spoon… and she loves every minute of it.serious-lip-balm-founders

Once they perfected their all-natural, handmade formula, they started work on a lip scrub, a beard balm, a bug repellent, and more! Now, they’re kicking butt and taking names with more than 15 lip care and skin care items in their inventory!

They are Serious Lip Balm and they’re SERIOUS about making as close to a perfect product with good ingredients that help you be your best without adding any funny stuff.

About the Founder

Words from the co-founder, Nate Underwood:

My first ever career aspiration was to become a chef, but at the age of about 10 my mom told me that to do so would mean getting up at 4 am every day for work. Back then I liked sleeping in! Although I never became a chef, food is something that’s remained important to me. A couple of years ago I discovered a guy named Michael Pollan , who has served as a source of both inspiration and education.

As someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, it was with horror that I learned about the damage we were causing to the natural environment through our eating choices. For most of us, there is unlikely to be a decision we make today that has a greater impact on the planet than what we decide to eat.

The health consequences of our food choices are pretty scary too, and the fact that there’s such a good correlation between food choices that are good for the planet and those that are good for us personally has only amplified my desire to become a change-maker in this field. I believe that our relationship with food is one of the biggest challenges our generation faces.

Legacy, purpose, and impact are my core values. Urban Leaf is about improving the legacy we leave behind for future generations.

About the Company

Urban Leaf exists because they believe that the environmental impact of our food systems represents one of, if not the, biggest challenges our generation faces. They want their kids, and your kids, to live on a happy and healthy planet.

By facilitating a relationship that brings people closer to their food, their mission is to motivate, encourage, and inspire healthier and more sustainable food choices.

Respect for our planet is engrained in everything they do. They recently became the first gardening company in the world to set ‘Net Negative’ emissions targets, they are currently pursuing their B Corp Certification, and they go out of their way to make thoughtful material selections in all of their products.

How They’re Different

Urban Leaf specializes in teaching people how to garden, not machines. If you are looking for a machine to produce basil for you like Nespresso produces coffee, then they are not the right company for you. They believe that whilst technology can have its place in gardening, too much of it is a distraction. Too many gadgets deprive us of the very ‘experience’ of gardening that they seek to provide. They believe that a direct connection with nature is what many of us in urban environments are so desperately lacking.

Urban Leaf caters to Indoor and Urban Edible Gardeners. That’s it. They put a large amount of time and effort into cultivar selection, and some of their suppliers tell them that they are the fussiest and most annoying customers they have. They’re very proud of that.

When they select seeds to put in their kits and seed selections, they screen the available options for attributes that make them well suited to indoor and urban gardening. This includes things like dwarf size or compact stature, disease resistance, drought tolerance, and low light suitability. That’s not to say that their plants don’t need TLC, but if you’re wanting to grow a gigantic tomato ‘tree’ in your backyard then you should probably buy your seeds somewhere else. Their focus is fitting as much as they can into small spaces.

Their Promise To You

All Urban Leaf products come with a Green Thumb Guarantee, which means that if you can’t get them to grow or are not satisfied with the results they will refund or replace them for free. They do this not because they think their products are perfect. They’re not. Rather, they do this because they recognize that gardening is a voyage and not a destination, and if you’re completely new to it then the truth is that there’s a bunch of things that could go wrong. But there is so much to be gained from fixing our food system and having you experience the magic of gardening that they don’t want an initial setback to deter you. Not only are they willing to replace your product for free, but they will also happily offer 1-on-1 coaching and support to make your next attempt a more successful one.

About the Founders

SeedGeeks was started by Marc and Angela Adler and naturally grew from their desire to live more sustainably, reconnect with their food sources, and help others to do the same. They strive to educate on the benefit and necessary preservation of heirloom variety seeds, seed saving, and organic gardening.

About the Company

Their 50-acre heirloom seed farm serves as a trial and demonstration garden for the many varieties of seeds they offer, as well as a successful, working model for sustainable agriculture. Along with the heirloom gardens, their farm is home to honeybee hives that have ample forage of flowers and free-range chickens that provide help with pest control & composting. They strive to make use of all the abundance that their farm brings by sharing with friends & family, canning & preserving, and using much of what they produce in their products including lip balms, soap, and raw honey.

They are passionate about all aspects of sustainable living, but the harvest begins and ends with a reliance on heirloom open-pollinated seeds. Each seed tells a story, not just of their history, but also of their future. According to the FAO, since the 1900s, 75% of the world’s edible plant genetic diversity has been irreversibly lost. In the U.S., this figure is a staggering 95%. Once a seed variety is lost, it is lost forever. By growing and offering only open-pollinated seeds that can be saved and shared by home gardeners and farmers alike, they aim to help keep these stories alive for many generations to come.

About the Founders

Gar Brandt is the Founder and Owner of Brandt Woodworking, LLC.

His first official accomplishment with wood crafting was his Woodworking merit badge in the Boy Scouts which helped him earn his Eagle. The smell of freshly cut lumber appealed to his senses and today he continues that same passion by turning on a wood lathe. Transforming a piece of wood into something that will be admired and appreciated by others gives him great satisfaction.
