Certified Organic Ingredients

“Organic” isn’t just for hippies and baby food anymore – it’s for all living things. They source organically grown herbs, oils, and raw ingredients to ensure their products are free from nasty stuff (harmful pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers) and promote good stuff (diverse ecosystems, healthy soil, clean groundwater). It’s organic, man.

Non-GMO Materials

Yep… they’re real. They like their materials the way nature intended, so they pass on genetically modified organisms. They don’t have a ton of rules, but they do their best, always, to source materials that do not contain GMOs.

Wild Land Farming

WWRCD? That’s “What WouId Rachel Carson Do?” If they can’t source it, they grow it. They grow their own calendula, lavender, and yarrow using wildland farming techniques to promote biodiversity, build natural habitats, build healthy soil, and attract the birds and the bees (heyo).

Photosynthesis – even buildings are doing it! Their production facility in Morro Bay, CA is powered by photovoltaic panels on the roof and plenty of outdoor board meetings.

For anyone sitting in the back: More women in leadership! They’re proud to be a Woman-owned and founded company (shoutout to Caroline!) and run a business full of badass lady power. Their production facility is run and staffed by women, they have women farmers, women in finance, women in sales… are you seeing a pattern? Cruelty-Free Testing

They test on actual humans! They’re all about cruelty-free cosmetics and partner with membership affiliates like PETA and Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (Leaping Bunny) to encourage consumers and companies to say no to animal testing. It’s the 21st century, people – let’s just test on humans or robots. Paging the Terminator.

Reef Friendly Products & Initiatives

Things they like: Finding Nemo. Things they don’t like: Dead Nemo. They’re committed to protecting the coral reefs of the world by making ONLY reef-safe sunscreen. Quick science lesson: pollution caused by chemicals found in common sunscreens (notably octinoxate and oxybenzone) contribute to clogging up the pores of coral reefs (yes, they have pores too) which is no bueno for these creatures. (Here’s more science if you want to geek out). They stay faaaaar away from these ingredients, instead of making 100% of their All Good mineral sunscreen products with topical ingredients that sit on top of your skin to physically block the sun’s rays. These non-nano particles won’t absorb into your bloodstream or into coral reef systems, either. If it’s good enough for Nemo, it’s good enough for you.

Spray on musty, sweaty, funky items (especially those used during workouts) — air dry or wipe dry, and smell the minty freshness.
