USE

1. WET AND WRING

STEP 1: WET THE BAG, THEN WRING IT OUT.

Vejibags establish a moist, breathable environment for your produce. First, wet the bag and wring it out so it is damp.

 

2. RINSE AND SHAKE

STEP 2: RINSE VEGETABLES.

Rinse your vegetables carefully, remove damaged areas, and gently shake off any excess water. If you’re washing lettuces or greens, there’s no need to spin. Let your Vejibag do the work!

 

 

3. STORE AND ENJOY!

STEP 3: STORE AND DAMPEN AS NECESSARY.

Store in the refrigerator’s main compartment or a slightly opened crisper drawer. When the bag dries out after several days, re-wet slightly by running it briefly under the faucet, vegetables and all.

VEJIBAGS ARE MACHINE WASHABLE AND DRYABLE

Turn Vejibags inside out, and machine wash with fragrance-free detergent. Hang in the sun to dry or machine dry; expect 10% shrinkage the first time as this is a 100% cotton bag!

If your bag gets stained, you can safely remove most stains with oxygen bleach or make your own environmentally friendly stain remover solution with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 2 Tablespoons of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda. Add enough hot water to the hydrogen peroxide/washing soda solution to cover the bag and let sit for 24 hours.

Sally needed to keep veggies as fresh as possible when harvested from her year-round Eastport, Maine greenhouse until customers took them home from the local co-op market. And she wanted to do that without creating plastic waste or using toxic chemicals. So while conventional plastic bags and boxes suffocate vegetables by trapping stale air and ethylene gas, our wet cotton bag keeps moisture-loving vegetables alive and crisp in high humidity, breathable environment. Our vegetable storage bags use 100% organic french terry cotton, grown by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, and hand-sewn by employee-owned Opportunity Threads, in Morganton, North Carolina.

The Vejibag is now a top seller in eco-conscious and zero-waste shops across the US.

Apply oven cleaner to greasy spots or caked on messes. Use a scouring pad or scrubbing rag to clean. No water necessary. Wipe away cleaner when done for a shiny, clean space. Non-toxic.

Machine wash scrubbing cloth only with other micro-cloths in warm or hot water, tumble dry low.
