Don’t put it in the dishwasher, that would just be silly. It is natural wood and should be hand washed. However, you’re stripping healthy herbs, not stirring gravy so it shouldn’t get real dirty anyways.

This adorable Vejibag vegetable crisper also serves as a preservation bag. It creates a humid and breathable environment for vegetables. How cool is that?
When damp, the bag wicks away excess moisture while keeping vegetables well-hydrated and fresh for up to 2 weeks (or more). It is the perfect companion for your garden harvest or your recent farmer’s market trip. Keep your healthy goods fresher longer.
Vejibags have always been made with the finest US-grown and milled organic cotton french terry knit. They are sewn at a worker-owned facility in Morganton, NC, and as always, they are free from dyes or chemicals. Everything about Vejibag was, and remains, good.

Use & Care
USE
Vejibags create a superior way to care for fresh produce. Veggies need humidity and cool temperatures like cut flowers to stay vibrant and alive. Once you become accustomed to the simple process, you’ll find it’s easy. Don’t let your beautiful produce go to waste. Treat your vegetables as living things!
Large Vejibag is excellent for storing kale, celery, zucchini, leafy lettuce heads, or more significant amounts of loose leafy greens.
1. WET AND WRING
STEP 1: WET THE BAG, THEN WRING IT OUT.
Vejibags establish a moist, breathable environment for your produce. First, wet the bag and wring it out so it is damp.
2. RINSE AND SHAKE
STEP 2: RINSE VEGETABLES.
Rinse your vegetables carefully, remove damaged areas, and gently shake off any excess water. If you’re washing lettuces or greens, there’s no need to spin. Let your Vejibag do the work!
3. STORE AND ENJOY!
STEP 3: STORE AND DAMPEN AS NECESSARY.
Store in the refrigerator’s main compartment or a slightly opened crisper drawer. When the bag dries out after several days, re-wet slightly by running it briefly under the faucet, vegetables and all.
CARE
VEJIBAGS ARE MACHINE WASHABLE AND DRYABLE
Turn Vejibags inside out, and machine wash with fragrance-free detergent. Hang in the sun to dry or machine dry; expect 10% shrinkage the first time as this is a 100% cotton bag!
If your bag gets stained, you can safely remove most stains with oxygen bleach or make your own environmentally friendly stain remover solution with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 2 Tablespoons of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda. Add enough hot water to the hydrogen peroxide/washing soda solution to cover the bag and let sit for 24 hours.
About the Founder
Sally Erickson created Vejibag out of necessity in 2013. Sally needed to keep veggies as fresh as possible when harvested from her year-round Eastport, Maine greenhouse until customers took them home from the local co-op market. And she wanted to do that without creating plastic waste or using toxic chemicals. So while conventional plastic bags and boxes suffocate vegetables by trapping stale air and ethylene gas, our wet cotton bag keeps moisture-loving vegetables alive and crisp in high humidity, breathable environment. Our vegetable storage bags use 100% organic french terry cotton, grown by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, and hand-sewn by employee-owned Opportunity Threads, in Morganton, North Carolina.
